Plurn helps you organize and make sense of media on the internet. It can be used with audio, video, or any media type that can be played thru a playlist.

Who is this site for?

Plurn is aimed at content creators and media artists.

What is open source media?

Open source or Limited Rights Media is freely available on the Word Wide Web. Always add legal links to plurn, only open source or the likes. Any illegal links will be removed.

Where does the content come from?

All over the Internet. Plurn does not host the content, it links to it via Playlist.

What formats are supported?

Currently the M3U formatted is supported (Read here and here). Winamp, Windows Media Player can play these playlist types. More formats are being added quickly.

What browsers are supported?

This site has been tested with Internet Explorer, Avant Browser and Mozilla Firefox. All browsers work correctly. We suggest that you let the playlist open in your media player instead of playing within the browser.

Should I use a specific browser with this site?

No, not specfically, but this style of the site looks best with Mozilla Firefox.

What, another Playlist Format OR What is XSPF?

There is no XML format for playlists that can measure up to the standards of the formats for web pages (HTML), weblogs (RSS), and web graphs (RDF/XML). It is evident that there is a need, because XML is the preferred data description language of the moment and as a result the tools and skills to use it are ubiquitous. Read more here.
